America’s Failing Foreign Policy

At this point, to say that President Obama’s foreign policy has been a complete failure is putting it mildly.

We endured the Arab Spring, and now are faced with the prospect of more Islamofascist theocracies popping up across the Middle East – and not only that, but President Obama has given monetary and military aid to the Muslim Brotherhood regime in Egypt, which will almost surely lead to American dollars and American military hardware being used against our ally Israel.

According to Vice President Biden in last year’s Vice Presidential debate, it doesn’t matter whether Iran gets a nuclear weapon because they don’t have a delivery system capable of delivering a nuclear warhead – but for a nation that has had no public aspirations for a space program, Iran’s latest stunt, launching a monkey into space, sounds like little more than a thinly-veiled attempt to mask a test for a delivery system. Add to this the fact that Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, and Iran is a very real threat to the Middle East region and to the world.

And then there is the fact that Iran is currently fighting proxy wars in Syria and Israel; they have supported Bashar Assad, threatening to launch counter-attacks against Israel if they interfere in Syria’s ongoing civil war. They have also been long-standing supporters of Hamas, and while the terrorist organization has been relatively quiet of late, there is little doubt that Iran is helping their terrorist allies to re-arm in anticipation of the next round of hostilities.

Now, the last remaining member of the Axis of Evil is rearing its head – North Korea has taken an increasingly aggressive stance, and is now issuing open threats against South Korea, which have been met with some angst from the international community – but considering the United Nations’s history for confronting aggressive regimes, Kim Jong Un has nothing to worry about. And the latest news is that apparently, the US government has been conducting secret meetings with the North Korean regime, without the knowledge of our allies in that region.

Add in international travesties like the cover-ups from the 9/11 attack in Benghazi and Fast and Furious, and it seems that the Obama administration is intent on doing everything wrong on the international stage. With an anti-American senator like John Kerry as our next Secretary of State, I’m sure we will have many more embarrasing international failures to look forward over the next four years.
