Even after four decades of dazzling TV audiences in designer gowns and sky-high heels, Vanna White isn’t slowing down. At 68, the iconic Wheel of Fortune co-host still turns heads with her youthful glow—and now she’s letting fans in on the disciplined routine that helps her stay camera-ready.

In a candid conversation with Ryan Seacrest on his On Air iHeartRadio show, White shared the details behind her wellness regimen, diet, and why, despite wearing over 8,000 gowns on the show, she prefers a far more casual look in real life.

Strict Diet and Snack Rules

White admits to following a fairly strict diet to maintain her health and appearance, especially while filming. Her go-to snack? “Nuts,” she told Seacrest with a laugh, calling them her reliable backstage nibble. But she confessed to occasionally giving in to temptation when faced with a spread of fresh doughnuts at the studio.

“It is so hard to not eat a doughnut,” she admitted. “Every once in a while, I will get a little doughnut hole. I can’t resist … but I won’t eat the whole thing.”

When it comes to lunch, White’s favorite is a “Bobby”—a Thanksgiving-inspired sandwich loaded with turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. “It’s the day after Thanksgiving,” Seacrest joked during the exchange.

Only 34 Workdays a Year

One of the biggest surprises about White’s routine is how little time she actually spends filming the show. In a separate appearance on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, she revealed that Wheel of Fortune only films 34 days a year, though each filming day includes six back-to-back episodes.

“Come on, you could feel bad for me,” she teased. “That’s six different dresses a day.”

Not that she keeps any of them—White confirmed she doesn’t own a single dress worn on the show. “Do you own the dresses? Do you rent them? Do you get to keep them?” a host asked. Her reply: “No, no, no—none of the above.”

Down-to-Earth Off-Camera

Though millions know her as the glamorous letter-turner, White says she’s a homebody at heart. On her days off, she trades her glittering gowns for Ugg boots and sweatshirts.

“Can I answer this for her?” Seacrest chimed in. “She likes to wear Uggs and sweats … you will never see her in a dress in the wild or on a weekend.”

The two co-hosts even share a quirky pre-show ritual—checking each other’s teeth. “Are there any sesame seeds in my teeth?” Seacrest will ask. “Is there any lipstick on my teeth?” White responds. But, Seacrest jokes, by that time the cameras are already rolling.

Staying Fit the Fun Way

To keep up her appearance, White also includes light workouts—even in full makeup and evening wear. In an October Instagram video, she was seen lifting dumbbells backstage while dressed to the nines. “See, I wear a lot of sleeveless dresses, so I have to keep the muscles going,” she explained with a laugh.

Seacrest joined in the fun, doing squats in a suit and showing White a few of his own pre-show workout moves.

A Legacy of Glamour

White joined Wheel of Fortune in 1982, just a year after Pat Sajak took over as host. The show itself premiered in 1975, and Sajak’s retirement in 2023 marked the end of an era. Seacrest officially succeeded him as host, while White extended her contract through the 2025–2026 season.

Though she’s now sharing the stage with a new co-host, her decades-long dedication to fitness, wellness, and a carefully balanced lifestyle continues to keep her shining at 68.

“I’ve worn thousands of dresses,” White once said. “But in the end, I’d still rather be in jeans and Uggs.” With a light work schedule, a clean diet, and just enough doughnut holes to keep it real, Vanna White has figured out the formula for timeless elegance—and she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
