GOP Leader Goes For The Throat – Slams Liberal Outrage Over Spending Cuts

Representative Jim Jordan, the Ohio Republican and Judiciary Committee chair, unleashed a fiery rebuke on Sunday against Democrats’ frantic opposition to spending cuts, calling their arguments “pretty darn crazy.” Speaking on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, Jordan tore into the left’s defense of wasteful federal programs, especially as President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) ramps up its $2 trillion slash-and-burn mission. For conservatives, this is a rallying cry—proof the GOP’s ready to take back control from the budget-busting liberals.

Jordan didn’t hold back when Bartiromo pressed him on DOGE’s progress.

“The arguments from the left against these spending cuts—it’s pretty darn crazy,” he said. “They’re out there saying, ‘Oh, you can’t cut this, you can’t cut that,’ but they never explain why we should keep funding programs that don’t work, that waste taxpayer money, or that prop up foreign agendas.”

He zeroed in on DOGE’s early wins, noting the agency’s already trimmed $55 billion by axing funding for bloated outfits like USAID, the Department of Education’s DEI schemes, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Jordan’s not surprised Democrats are screaming—over 70 lawsuits, including one from 19 AGs blocking Education Department data access, show their desperation.

Bartiromo didn’t let up, asking how Republicans balance fiscal discipline with public needs.

“Look, we’re not cutting what matters—border security, energy dominance, jobs for Americans,” Jordan fired back. “We’re targeting the junk Biden piled on: student loan giveaways, green energy boondoggles, and overseas handouts that fund China’s cronies. DOGE’s about prioritizing the American people, not the swamp.”

He praised Elon Musk’s leadership, saying, “Musk gets it—he’s not afraid to ask federal workers what they’ve done, like that email last week that had unions crying foul. That’s accountability, and it’s long overdue.”

The left’s meltdown only proves Jordan’s point. New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver called DOGE’s cuts a “war” in D.C. protests, while Senate Democrats labeled it unconstitutional. Too bad—Republicans see through the noise. A federal judge’s Friday ruling letting DOGE access Treasury records shows the courts aren’t all against them, and Jordan’s confident Congress will push reconciliation bills to lock in savings.

Conservatives know the stakes. Biden’s deficits ballooned the national debt past $35 trillion, and his open-border policies drained resources while wages stagnated. Trump’s January 20 “emergency price relief” memo signals the fix—cut waste, boost Main Street, and secure the nation. Jordan’s stance is a battle cry: the GOP’s not backing down, and the left’s tantrums won’t stop the purge. With DOGE rolling and the base behind them, Republicans are set to deliver a leaner, stronger America—exactly what voters demanded in 2024.
