Thumbs Up for Trump’s Iran Strikes, Poll Finds

A new American Pulse poll reveals a solid majority of Americans support President Donald Trump’s airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, confirming that his decisive action resonates with voters concerned about national security and stopping Iran from getting the bomb.
Conducted June 23-25 among 633 likely voters, the poll found that 55.5% approve of Trump’s efforts to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, while only 39.4% disapprove. When specifically asked about the airstrikes, 53.7% approved, showing clear public backing for Trump’s use of military force to cripple Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The support was especially strong among Republicans, with 86.1% approving of Trump’s actions, while 64% of Democrats disapproved. Among Trump voters, approval for the strikes remained high at 84.8%, demonstrating that the president’s approach aligns with his base’s priorities for American strength abroad.
Pollster Dustin Olson noted the strikes showcased Trump’s “Force + Diplomacy” approach, combining military power with diplomatic efforts to address the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program. “Americans see Trump using all options to address Iran’s nuclear threat and end fighting,” Olson said, adding that the poll “indicates that Trump successfully threaded that needle.”
The poll also found that 61% of respondents believe America’s adversaries, including cartels and sleeper cells, exploited the Biden administration’s open-border policies, reinforcing the perception that the previous administration’s weakness invited danger while Trump’s leadership restores deterrence.
Trump’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities followed months of escalating tensions in the region and years of Iranian defiance on nuclear development. In the days after the strikes, even some skeptical voices admitted Iran’s nuclear program suffered significant setbacks, as damage reports confirmed key enrichment facilities were crippled.
Critics in the media tried to downplay the effectiveness of the strikes, but the polling shows voters are not buying it. For many Americans, Trump’s action represents a return to prioritizing U.S. security, projecting strength, and sending a clear message to adversaries that nuclear blackmail will not be tolerated.
With Trump’s net approval also showing a positive margin (49.7% approve, 48.9% disapprove) within the same poll, it’s clear that decisive action on foreign threats remains a winning issue. As the administration continues to balance force with negotiation, the American public appears ready to support Trump’s efforts to keep Iran in check and prevent a nuclear-armed terror state from rising in the Middle East.
This poll is an early but clear indicator: When it comes to protecting America and stopping rogue regimes from going nuclear, voters are standing with Trump.
